Hello everyone, today I have yet another Honest Review. I will be reviewing one of their palettes and their concealer. I also created a look using these items. These two products were quite interesting to try out.
So let’s get into it!
First, we are going to start off with the concealer. This is the Double Feature Concealer Highlighter. It retails for $3.99.
The very first thing I noticed was the… interesting packaging that it came in.
The box was really interesting because the text is really strange. It reads ” Cover Concealer Cream is perfect for concealing the most extreme flaws, such as scars, severe skin damage, beauty spots, depigmentation or birthmarks. It can even hide tattoos. Waterproof and long-lasting, it holds even under extreme conditions thanks to its perfectly stable formula. It evens out the skin tone and camouflage imperfections for extended periods of time.
Formula: Aqueous emulsion of volatile oils with optimized pigment content Plastic polymers Allantoin Microcrystalline cellulose powder Derma sensitive Dermatologist tested”.
Then it gets wild.
“The triple combination, repair capacity makeup magic wand, convenient, fast, shining the light of new wisdom women.
Paste makeup unique ball design, avoid finger nails caused by uneven force, the flower makeup, can make the liquid foundation, Concealer posted a more uniform, at the same time to do facial skin by massage.
When to use Concealer pen vertical holding, dub defective parts, moderate strength, open you can even wipe”.
I think it is really strange but I think it can be attributed to poor translation.
Once I opened the packaging, I was very impressed. There are 3 sections of this concealer: the liquid, the stick, and the blending ball.
I got this in the shade “02: Light Skin” which I think was a bit too light for me.
As you can see, the stick is much darker than the liquid so the stick worked a lot better for my skin color.
The liquid is very light and relatively sheer. It is obviously much too light for my skin but it works very well as a liquid highlighter.
The stick is the perfect color for my skin but it does show my pores and cracks very well. It also creases quite a bit when swatched on my hand.
While I usually blend in my concealer with my fingers or a brush, I attempted to use the blending ball and it didn’t do anything. After trying it under my eyes, I realized that it might not be a blending ball after all. I think it is more about the massage aspect which allows blood flow and good circulation. It helps to reduce puffiness, redness and relax the skin.
I will be showing my review when I show the look I created using these products.
So let’s get into the palette.
This is the Professional Shimmer + Matte Neutral Palette in the color grapefruit. This retails for $9.25.
This is a STUNNING palette. There are so many gorgeous colors in here. They are all incredibly pigmented and super creamy upon first application. They all swatch beautifully and look great with any eye color.
My only complaint with this is the weird writing on the back. This one is worse than the concealer.
” Collect any occasion as 10 color collocation, color reflects the temptation, ass very fine oils, prevent caking or fly powder phenomenon, color is more natural color clear, easily highlight stereo eye level, at the beginning of lasting shine like makeup.
Coagulation by light color technology, ultrafine powder, soft tactility, specially added pearl extract whole carry bright eye ministry outline, natural and not make plastic, make eye makeup more break more stereo, eyes bright and glorious”.
Here are the instructions for use:
“Usage: Step 1: take a suitable amount of eye shadow with pink eye in eye socket to bone base; step 2: along a YanJi transition from deep to shallow layers of shading on the eye socket, create a layer of stereo effect gradually”.
That being said, the packaging of the actual palette is STUNNING and super high quality. I absolutely love the bright orange color and the dark pink shade. So those were the two colors I decided to focus my eye look on.
To make this easier, I decided to label the shades with numbers so here it is:
So here is what I created:
I started off by lightly blending shade 4 onto my lid and crease. This provided the perfect base for the rest of the shades.
Next, I added shade 2 into my crease and blended it onto my lid.
Then, I used a flat brush to press shade 3 onto my lid.
With a light hand, I blended shade 8 onto my lid.
With a heavy hand, I added shade 6 to the outer corner and blended into my crease. This became a bit messy but was easily fixed with a bit of makeup remover.
I cleaned up my face and blended it all together. I topped it off with a thick eyeliner and mascara then moved onto concealer.
I started with the liquid concealer to try and lighten up my eyes.
Ellie Tip: Draw your concealer in a triangular shape to create a natural look that lifts your under eyes and removes dark circles.
After blending this in, I realized that I did actually need the stick concealer to finish this look.
Once I added the stick concealer, my face got such a beautiful glow. The concealer didn’t crease upon application but it did look a bit wet.
I topped it off with some powder and it completely mattified it.
I finished the look with some blush, dark lipstick and some highlighter.
Overall, I don’t love the look I created but I am beyond pleased with the products themselves. My phone camera does not give these colors justice.
So here is my final verdict:
Concealer- Pros: • lightweight • simple packaging • easy to use • blends really easily • covers blemishes extremely well • great for beginners •great price Cons: • very light both in color and texture • liquid does not have great coverage Overall Score: 7/10, this is something that I am very happy to have tried out but did not become a product I can see myself using for every makeup look. It is great for people with very smooth, even skin or on top of a full-coverage foundation.
Palette- Pros: • highly pigmented • great color options • feels incredibly expensive • blends really easily • able to create a variety of looks •great price Cons: • lighter colors are less pigmented than darker ones • palette is smaller than expected Overall Score: 8/10, the palette is absolutely gorgeous inside and out. I love the variety of colors, especially the bright orange color.
I am beyond impressed with these products. For under $10 both of these products are incredibly high quality and are super easy to use. I will absolutely be purchasing more products from them in the future and I HIGHLY recommend that you guys try some out as well.
If you’ve already tried out one of their products, let me know what you thought of it!
