May Birchbox Unboxing

Hey everyone, today I will be unboxing one of my favorite subscription boxes, my Birchbox. If you are unfamiliar with Birchbox, it is a beauty subscription box that comes every month with 5-6 deluxe samples in a beautiful box for just $10 a month. My favorite part about Birchbox is their fabulous rewards program. For every 10 points you earn, you receive $1 in store credit. The points are super easy to earn and build up super fast. This month, there were some issues with my box delivery and after emailing Birchbox customer service, I was informed that my personalized products were out of stock so they were forced to send me the generic box that would be sent out to new subscribers. That being said, I still loved most of the products.

So let’s get into it.

Here is what this month’s box looks like. I feel like their boxes used to be much cuter so I’m kind of disappointed with this month’s design. IMG_1856

The theme for this month is “Low effort, high impact” which I really enjoy. As many of you know, I can be very lazy and I love products that are multi-purpose and highly effective. IMG_1857

Here is the outline of what was inside my box. There is a total, full-size retail value of $153!IMG_1858

The first item in my box is this Ouai Haircare Wave Spray. This is designed to create gentle waves while leaving your hair with “weightless texture”. I already have wavy hair but this adds just a little bit more curl. I noticed that it works much better with damp hair but absolutely adds great texture to any look. I am a huge fan of this brand in general simply because everything smells amazing and this spray is no exception. This is a 10/10.IMG_1859

The next item in my box is a setting spray from Coola, which I am a huge fan of. Setting spray is essential in the summer especially while I’m home in Texas because humidity and makeup do not go together. This setting spray does a really great job of locking your makeup in without making your face feel greasy or cakey. Because Coola is a skincare brand, this setting spray also has some bonus SPF 30 which is crucial to protecting your skin from the harsh sun. The only downside to this is that it totally smells like sunscreen but in the summer, I don’t mind that at all. IMG_1860

The next item in my box is the only item I am not happy with. I am not a fan of MAC products simply because they so blatantly test on animals. While I am well aware that many brands do test on animals, MAC is one of the only ones that refuses to change that. Aside from the brand itself, this strobe cream didn’t work at all for me. As you can see in the swatch, you can barely even see it. For $33 I could never imagine buying this. IMG_1861IMG_1862

The fourth item I received is a firming body cream from Whish. This is a brand that I frequently receive in my Birchbox and always end up loving. It is super moisturizing and all of their products smell amazing. This cream helps to firm skin, improve texture and minimize blemishes which is great for short season. I’m definately a fan of this one. IMG_1863

The last item in my box is my favorite. It is The Beauty Crop Fabulous Flocking Lashes mascara. Aside from the super cute name and packaging, this mascara is also incredibly effective. It creates stunning, natural looking lashes that are super long and clump-free. It is waterproof and doesn’t have any strange mascara smell. Plus, it’s full size!IMG_1864

Overall, I am extremely happy with my box this month even though it wasn’t personalized and I would still absolutely recommend joining Birchbox.

So that concluded my Birchbox unboxing. If you have any questions or comments, please leave them in the comments below or on any of my social media accounts. If there is another subscription box you’d like me to try, send it to my in the comments or on social media!
