Lazy Girl- How I Clean My Brushes

Hello everyone, today I am going to be sharing with you how I clean my makeup brushes. As you all probably know by now, I am incredibly lazy and love finding new and easy ways to do everyday tasks. I usually try to clean my makeup brushes at least once a month and I always use this method. So here we go!

Of course, the first step is to gather all of your dirty makeup brushes.  img_9046

Then, grab your cleaning weapons. I use the E.L.F. Brush Shampoo and the AOA Brush Cleaning Egg. These items are super cheap and are amazing at taking out all of the dirt and oil that has built up on your brushes. img_9047

So the first thing I do is rinse my brushes out, this removes any excess powder and makes the rest of the process much easier. img_9048

Then I take a small amount (about a pea-sized drop) to my cleansing egg and scrub my brush to clean it off. img_9049

After I have removed the majority of the makeup, I rinse my brush once more. img_9050

Then I repeat that with all of my brushes.

The next thing I clean is my beauty blending sponge. This is a bit of a different process. img_9051

I use a plastic cup (make sure it isn’t something that you care about because it will be completely NASTY after this process is over).  I add a few drops of shampoo and some warm water to my cup and mix well. img_9052

Then I place my sponge inside and squeeze it to absorb the soapy water. I let it sit for a few hours and occasionally refresh the water depending on how dirty it is. Then I rinse it out with some more warm water and let it dry. img_9053
