Well hello there. Today I have my second post in my Back to School series. In this post, I will share something that I think is very important, my skincare secrets. I take pride in my skin and I do my best to prevent damage, aging, and acne by using the right products and managing my diet and exercise. That being said, I am incredibly lazy so today I will show you the easy way to perfect skin. (Please keep in mind that I am not a professional and that everyone’s skin is different. These are only suggestions.)
What you need:
I have to share one of the most underrated skincare items is a setting spray. I never realized how helpful it could be until I tried this one from NYX out. Using a setting spray helps to minimize the amount of makeup that you have to reapply during the day. This particular one is mattifying and helps keep your skin from getting oily.
Next, on your list should be a good moisturizer. I have changed mine out SO MANY times but this is one of my absolute favorites. It is super light and can go under makeup with ease. Despite its ability to blend in with everything, it is incredibly moisturizing and hydrating. My skin has looked 1000 times better since I started using it.
This is not necessarily a required product but it certainly helps with keeping your skin healthy. I have super sensitive skin and using makeup wipes can sometimes be too hard on my skin. This one allows me to take all of my makeup off without having to scrub it all off. It is also super convenient and smells AHHHH-mazing.
One of the most important skincare items you can have is an SPF for your face. It is incredibly important to protect your skin from the sun. Most people put sunscreen on their body, but a lot forget about their face because they have makeup on . That doesn’t do shit for you unless you have an SPF underneath. This one from Coola is my favorite. It is super light and breathable and it does a great job of keeping my skin safe from burns and wrinkles.
Another very important item is a Vitamin C liquid. This comes in many forms like moisturizers, creams or liquid. I personally like the liquid because it is more potent and simple. I love the smell of it and I love that it is protecting my skin from wrinkles and fine lines every day. This brand is the one I am currently using but all of them are pretty much the same.
Finally, you need a toner. I had always thought that toners were for people who had skin discoloration but that is NOT their only purpose. Toners are great for just cleansing the skin after you take your makeup off. They take off dirt and grime like no one’s business. I love this one from Beauty by Earth. It smells like candy and is super gentle.
What you do:
The best thing you can do for your skin is drink water. This keeps your skin hydrated and healthy all while boosting your digestive system and helping you stay alive. I try to drink 3-4 bottles per day of NON-ICE water. This allows me to drink more without shocking my system with cold water.
The next tip is one of those weird things that don’t really make any sense but are perfectly rational: tie your hair back. Your hair can get N.A.S.T.Y really easily. Think of all of the dirt and oil that is in it *shutter*. You don’t need any of that getting onto your face so be sure to keep it out of your way, especially when its second or third day hair.
I hope you enjoyed this post and that it helps you keep your skin super healthy. If you have any healthy skin tips or BTS post request, leave them in the comments below!
Lots of love,
