Everyone loves the idea of being healthy: slim body, clear skin, decent stamina, being happy. However, being healthy is not the easiest thing to do. When is a salad better than a bag of Flaming Hot Cheetos? But through some very thorough research (living the lazy life) I have found ways to be healthy but also enjoy it. You’re welcome.
1. Drink Water: This is probably one of the easiest things that you can do to keep your body happy. According to WebMD, “you should try to drink between half an ounce and an ounce of water for each pound you weigh, every day”. For a person of my weight, 125 pounds, that’s between 62.5 and 125 ounces of water a day, or at least 4 plastic water bottles! Now while this sounds like a lot, you don’t actually have to drink just straight water all day. You can get that hydration from other places, which leads me to
2. Eat Hydrating Food: Foods like watermelon, cucumbers, celery and tomatoes, which are made of 90% water are not only delicious, but incredibly helpful for hydrating the body. These foods are also great for your skin and replenishing your necessary vitamins and minerals. Speaking of vitamins and minerals,
3.Take Supplements: This is such an easy way to maintain your health. There are so many different kinds of supplements to choose from. My personal favorite is the Nature’s Bounty Hair, Skin and Nails Gummies. These yummy gummies provide the necessary nutrients for hair, skin and nails by providing vitamins E and C and Biotin. Here is a coupon.
4. Easy Exercises: Disney Channel, along with many professionals, always said that you need to exercise for 30 minutes everyday. This sounds difficult but in all honesty, it is incredibly easy. You usually don’t even realize you’re exercising for most of the day! (according to my iPhone Health App, I’ve walked 1.6 miles just from walking around my campus!) There are so many ways that you can get your 30 minutes and still have fun every day. Here are some ideas and some (mainly Austin) locations to get you started.
*Yoga- my favorites are Black Swan, Blue Honey and Core Power.
*Swimming- try a local pool like Barton Springs or a local lake or beach.
*Rock Climbing- Head over to Main Event for a safe, indoor course!
*Lazer Tag- Bring out your inner child and battle your friends at Main Event or Blazer Tag.
5. Reward Yourself: Even though your body will naturally reward you, there are other ways to “give back”. My personal favorite is to get a jar and fill it with $5 every time I exercise. This way, at the end of the month, you can buy yourself something special. (Hello, new yoga mat!)
As always, I hope you found this helpful. I love hearing feedback and connecting with you so be sure to leave a comment and follow my social medias! Stay happy and healthy,
